La Acción social y el Trabajo social han vivido en España un cambio espectacular desde el franquismo y la transición democrática para situarse hoy en una encrucijada de dilemas, entre el mantenimiento burocrático de un sistema prestacionista y el impulso transformador de la sociedad.
La reflexión a partir de una experiencia de Educación Familiar en el Centro Municipal del Casco Histórico de Zaragoza pone de manifiesto las limitaciones del modelo de servicios sociales puesto en marcha en los años 80 en España, con mucho voluntarismo y recursos escasos, y las posibilidades de futuro que se están ensayando para superarlas.
