Common root of philosophy and poetry: approach through Vicente Fatone and María Zambrano

Abstract

The intimate connection between poetry and philosophy has been recognized since the beginnings of thought, as evidenced by the literatures of the Vedic, Avestan and Archaic Greek periods (we can also add mystical intuition). This relationship has continued throughout history in such a way that we witness the emergence of poetry that philosophizes and philosophy that approaches the poetic act, although there is always an awareness of the difference. In 20^th century, Vicente Fatone and María Zambrano has been among the thinkers who have thoroughly explored this issue and offered original perspective.
