Communication and cancer: An analysis of doctor-patient communication in the Spanish oncology context

Oncology services are complex and involve a significant exchange of information. Understanding the dynamics and processes of communication, as well as the interactions involved, is key to improving the service. This study uses a semi-quantitative approach to analyse doctor-patient communication during initial oncology consultations, identifying barriers and weaknesses.
