Efficiently simulating the wave nature of light transport is crucial for accurately reproducing complex light transport effects ignored by conventional ray-optics rendering methods. While recent works incorporated general wave-optics simulation into rendering engines, these are limited to synthetic image reproduction. However, wave transport simulation also bears a great potential in research of digital twins of capture systems used in computational imaging methods. This work aims to incorporate wave-optics light transport simulation techniques into general-purpose rendering engines, and explore their applicability in the context of computational imaging systems.
