As a preliminary study into the production of ammonia (NH₃) via the gasification of agricultural and livestock waste, the decomposition of NH₃ at 600–800 °C with and without CaO is analysed. CaO increases conversion, although temperature is the dominant factor: 600–700 °C with CaO does not achieve the conversions obtained at 800 °C without a bed.
