Abstract

A biaxial characterisation of the passive mechanical properties of myocardium after two different infarction models (LCfx and LDes) has been carried out. The stiffness of infarcted tissue was found to increase proportionally to the degree of infarction, with similar values between LCfx and LDes. An anisotropic response was observed in LCfx, while a nearly isotropic response in LDes.
