Economía social y solidaria y crisis ecosocial: la intercooperación como herramienta para avanzar en las transiciones

En el actual contexto de crisis ecosocial, el sistema capitalista parece incapaz de hacer frente a problemas que él mismo ha generado. Por ello, la economía social y solidaria (ESS) puede tener un papel importante, al plantear organizar la economía bajo relaciones sociales de producción, distribución, consumo y financiación alternativas, basadas en la justicia, cooperación, reciprocidad y ayuda mutua, orientadas a democratizar la economía. En este artículo, se estudian las aportaciones de la ESS a las transiciones ecosociales y, más concretamente, en qué medida los mecanismos de intercooperación llevados a cabo en las redes de ESS contribuyen a esas transiciones. Para ello, realizamos tanto una revisión bibliográfica como un trabajo cualitativo basado en entrevistas a 21 organizaciones de ESS (OESS) del País Vasco. El artículo muestra cómo estas herramientas intercooperativas refuerzan el carácter transformador de las OESS, así como su fortalecimiento organizativo y, por tanto, pueden contribuir a las transiciones ecosociales.
