Abstract

Joan Nogué is Professor of Human Geography at the University of Girona and advisor to the Landscape Observatory of Catalonia, an institution he founded and directed from its creation in 2004 until 2017. He earned his PhD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and pursued further studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison (USA). He is the recipient of the King Jaime I Award for Urbanism, Landscape and Sustainability and a member of the scientific committee of the Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche (Italy), among many other national and international institutions and organizations. In 2022, Harvard University recognized his contributions to the field of landscape studies.

  • Carlos Labarta Aizpún, University of Zaragoza

    Professor of Architectural Projects, University of Zaragoza. Fulbright Scholar, Master in Design Studies, GSD, Harvard University, 1990. Extraordinary Doctoral Prize, University of Navarra, 2000. Eisenhower Fellowship, 2006. Articles published in Revista de Arquitectura RA, PPA, VLC, RITA, Constelaciones, or ACE Architecture, City and Environment, and in volumes such as Architects' Journeys and After the Manifesto (GSAPP Books, Columbia University/T6 Ediciones, 2011, 2014. Author or editor of eight books, including Arquitectua racionalista en Huesca, 2008 and Proyecto arquitectónico y materia, lecciones integradas, 2014. Works awarded in the García Mercadal Prize from 1992 to the present and the Ricardo Magdalena Architecture Prize, IFC, Zaragoza, 2011, 2023. Madrid City Council Urban Planning Prize, 1991. His work has been a Pre-finalist and Selected in the XII and XIV editions of the Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism, 2014 and 2018.

  • Alegría Colón Mur, University of Zaragoza

    Architect and holder of a Master's degree in Architectural Conservation from the University of Valladolid, she earned her PhD from the University of Zaragoza. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture at the University of Zaragoza, where she teaches in the area of Architectural Design. Her built work has received national and international recognition and has been featured in specialized publications. Among its distinctions is being shortlisted for the XV Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism and for the 2026 CSCAE Architecture Awards. She is the author of journal articles and book chapters published in collective volumes such as Estados intermedios. Intermediate Stages and 10 años, 10 textos, as well as in the journal ZARCH. Since 2022, she has been a member of the Institute of Heritage and Humanities and of the research groups Cultural Landscapes in Aragon and Urban Landscapes and Contemporary Design, both affiliated with the University of Zaragoza.
