Abstract

The impact of IT on climate change is growing rapidly. We aim to develop a data model that evaluates the carbon footprint of digital services, along with a visualization tool to inform users. Besides, we intend to propose new services to reduce carbon emissions when computing workload, adapting the moment, the location or with leaner processing.

Philippe Roose, Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour

Philippe ROOSE is Full Professor at LIUPPA research lab – E2S, University of Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (France). He is currently head of a Bachelor in Advances Computing. He is co-inventor of both KalimuchoTM & PISCO platforms (patented x4). He supervised 20 PhD thesis (2 current) and was involved in more than 40 PhD defenses. He published many national and international articles, journals and books and organized several national and international conferences as well.
His works are mainly focuses on green computing, middleware, software architecture, context-aware and autonomic.
He strongly believes in multi and pluri-disciplinary research with other computer scientists from semantic web, interactions and interfaces, HPC, design methods, etc. but also with other scientists from other disciplinary: historians, anthropologists, geographers, etc.

Adel Noureddine, Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour

I am an Associate Professor of computer science at the University of Pau and Adour Countries, within the LIUPPA laboratory, since September 2018.

Previously, I was an R&D Product Manager at Cat-Amania in Nantes until August 2018. I worked as a researcher at the University of East London on energy efficiency in data centres and cloud computing, in particular within the EU H2020 EURECA project in 2015 and 2016. I also worked on optimising software energy at the University of Edinburgh in 2014 and 2015. I graduated with a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Lille and Inria research center in March 2014 on measuring and understanding the energy consumption of software systems.

Olivier Le Goaër, Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour

Dr. Le Goaer hold a PhD in Computer Science from University of Nantes (France). His research focuses on Software Engineering. He is currently Associate Professor at University of Pau (France).
