Cloze Testing as an Alternative to the Conventional Exam in E.B.E.

Se ha investigado mucho sobre las pruebas cloze. Mientras que la mayor parte de la bibliografía se basa en el inglés general, en este estudio el inglés para los negocios y la economía (EBE) va a ser el punto de referencia. Se administraron dos pruebas cloze de supresión racional de 25 ítems y otras dos de relación fija de 25 a 69 estudiantes universitarios no nativos de la Facultad de Económicas. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar hasta qué punto una batería de pruebas cloze puede ser una alternativa a una prueba convencional de lectura comprensiva, averiguar si las palabras de contenido son más fáciles o más difíciles que las palabras de función y estudiar si dar la primera letra supone alguna diferencia. El análisis de los datos revela que existe una buena correlación entre las pruebas cloze y las pruebas convencionales de comprensión lectora, que hay diferencias significativas en cuanto a la dificultad y, por último, que una prueba cloze con indicación de la primera letra es diferente del otro procedimiento de supresión adoptado.
