Abstract

This study examines the determinants of job quality among Venezuelan migrants in Peru, using official data from the 2022 National Survey of the Venezuelan Population and a beta regression model. The results indicate that educational attainment in Venezuela and cultural integration have positive and significant effects on job quality, highlighting the role of human capital and cultural adaptation. In contrast, community social networks have a negative impact, possibly due to their association with informal sectors. Additionally, gender disparities are evident: men are more likely to access quality jobs, while women face challenges related to their concentration in precarious sectors. Continuing education in Peru improves job quality by aligning skills with the local market, whereas experiences of discrimination negatively affect labor outcomes. These findings underscore the need for policies that reduce structural barriers, promote inclusion, and enhance the human and social capital of migrants for their effective economic integration.
