Abstract

We explore the presence of images of the ominosous (unheimlich) in the TV series Chernobyl (2019) and the connection between the experience caused by these images and the intimate or familiar (heimlich). We review Freud's text about the ominosous (1919) from the contribution of Jesús González Requena in Emergence of the Sinister (1997). The scene of the Annunciation constitutes the guiding thread, or nuclear scene, of our work
