De la crisis a la creatividad: El futuro de la vivienda en perspectiva

Resumen

Este artículo profundiza en el debate actual sobre las interconexiones entre el proyecto de vivienda y el hábitat, destacando cómo los momentos de crisis impulsan la innovación, a menudo mostrada en exposiciones de vivienda. El artículo propone tres enfoques clave para el proyecto participativo de vivienda: Incrementalidad (con la adaptación al crecimiento y el cambio), Diversidad Tipológica (con la adaptación a diversos patrones de habitabilidad) y Agrupación (con el sentido de pertenencia a la comunidad). Estos enfoques de proyecto reconocen la vivienda como un proceso dinámico y enfatizan la importancia de dar prioridad a la acción humana y la inclusión, evitando la mercantilización de los hábitats humanos. El artículo destaca la importancia de la colaboración transdisciplinar en la toma de decisiones sobre el proyecto de vivienda, reconociendo la importancia de una variedad de factores vitales para promover comunidades urbanas resilientes e inclusivas. Concluye abogando por la educación y la investigación arquitectónicas centradas en la temporalidad como una dimensión crucial en el proyecto de vivienda, esencial para abordar los desafíos cambiantes y dar forma a futuros urbanos sostenibles.

Biografía del autor/a

Frédérique van Andel, Delft University of Technology

Frédérique van Andel (1971) Master en planificación urbana y arquitectura por TU Delft. Ha trabajado para Mecanoo Architecten y DP6 Architectuurstudio en Delft, y ha vivido en Barcelona donde trabajó con el arquitecto Toni Gironès. Desde 2006, es investigadora y docente en el Master de la Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment de TU Delft. Su principal línea de investigación es la vivienda asequible, sostenible y saludable en el mundo. En 2010 publicó el libro Parkeren in de Woonomgeving (Aparcamiento en zonas residenciales). Es miembro del consejo editorial de la serie de libros académicos internacionales DASH – Delft Architectural Studies on Housing y ha sido responsable de numerosos números, “The Residential Floorplan” (2011), “The Eco House” (2012), “Housing Exhibitions” (2013) y “Global Housing” (2015). En 2016, fue comisaria de la exposición Global Housing – Affordable Dwellings for Growing Cities, con sedes en Delft y Addis Abeba. Frédérique coordina la plataforma de conocimiento en línea PAD (Platform for Affordable Dwelling) y co-desarrolla un MOOC titulado Global Housing Design, que ha recibido el X Premio a la Innovación en la Enseñanza en Línea (2022). Actualmente coordina el Proyecto de Investigación Addis Ababa Living Lab: Creating Resilient Dwelling Clusters for Urban Resettlement in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, financiado por el Consejo Holandés de Investigación y TU Delft (2019-2023).

Nelson Mota, Delft University of Technology

Nelson Mota (1973) es Profesor Titular en la Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment de TU Delft, donde dirige el grupo Global Housing. Obtuvo su doctorado en TU Delft en 2014 con la tesis "Una arqueología de lo ordinario: repensar la arquitectura de la vivienda desde el CIAM hasta Siza". Nelson es autor del libro A Arquitectura do Quotidiano (edarq, 2010), coeditor de Global Housing: Dwelling in Addis Ababa (JapSam Books, 2020) y coeditor de los números en revistas académicas Footprint 17 – “The 'Bread & Butter' of Architecture” (2015), Joelho 8 – “Ideas and Practices for the European City” (2017), Footprint 24 – “The Architecture of Housing after the Neoliberal Turn” (2019) y Footprint 32 – “Rethinking the Architecture of Dwelling in the Digital Age” (2023, de próxima publicación). En TU Delft, Nelson es codirector del programa Global Urban Lab en Delft Global Initiative e investigador principal del grupo Global Housing. Es editor y miembro del consejo editorial de la revista académica Footprint y de la serie de libros DASH-Delft Architectural Studies on Housing.
