About the Journal

The Revista de Derecho Aragonés (RDA) is a forum for the study, application, and discussion of Aragonese law and its relationship with the other territorial legal systems of Spain, both in matters whose novelty, relevance, and complexity require legal reflection from a theoretical perspective, and in matters of a legal-historical nature. For this reason, the Review accepts articles on Aragonese Civil Law, Comparative Law, Philosophy of Law, and Legal History. Since June 2025, an agreement has been in place between the Fernando el Católico Institution (IFC, Diputación provincial de Zaragoza) and the Chair of Aragonese Civil and Regional Law (University of Zaragoza) to jointly publish the Journal.

The Aragonese Law Review publishes articles and papers in Spanish and, occasionally, in Catalan, Galician, Valencian, Basque, French, English, and Italian. For all articles, the title, abstract, and keywords must be translated into English.

The Journal consists of seven sections, three of which—Studies, Notes and Practical Issues, and Case Law Commentaries—are devoted to the dissemination of research findings and the scholarly discussion of practical issues. The Materials and News sections document all activities and developments relating to Aragonese law. The Bibliography section comprises two subsections: Reviews, which comment on newly published scholarly works dealing with any legal subject that affects or is relevant to Aragonese law and the history of Aragonese law; and Bibliographic Repertory, overseen by Professor Serrano García, which reports on any scholarly works relevant to the study, understanding, and application of Aragonese Civil Law. Both publication for authors and access to articles for readers are completely free of charge and exempt from any kind of fee.

The journal is published annually.

Articles are subject to a double-blind peer review process conducted by reviewers external to the journal’s publishing institution. These anonymous evaluators assess the originality, relevance, and scientific quality of the submitted manuscripts and provide a reasoned editorial decision.
