Altamira Gonzalo Valgañón, influential feminist activist and long-time lawyer specialized in Family Law and Community Law, has also held a number of positions. Among them, she has been legal adviser to the director of Instituto de la Mujer and a spokeswoman of Observatorio estatal contra la Violencia de género, as well as secretary of equality of PSOE in Aragón. In addition, between 2006 and 2010, she chaired the Asociación de Mujeres Juristas Themis, of which she is now vice-president. She was part of the editorial board of Aequalitas, a legal magazine specialized in women and men equality.
