Peer Review Process

The Comité Editorial of Filanderas. Revista Interdisciplinar de Estudios Feministas sends the articles received for external blind peer review and firmly guarantees their anonymity. This evaluation is carried out by professionals in the discipline to which the text belongs, and whose judgement is not influenced by subjective or non-strictly intellectual and academic factors. However, it's Editorial Committee who has the final decision on whether or not to publish the texts.

Frequency of publication

Filanderas. Revista Interdisciplinar de Estudios Feministas is an annual journal: it is published in December in a single issue with its own table of contents.

Steps

1. Sending

After registering on our web platform, the author will send the text, after what he/she will receive a e-mail confimartion.

2. Preliminary evaluation by the Editorial Team

The members of the Editorial Team and the Editorial Board will make an initial evaluation of the texts received, in order to check that the works comply with the authors guidelines and that the topic  is in line with the profile of the journal. This evaluation takes, more or less, one month and a half.

3. Submission for blind peer review

If the proposed work meets the criteria of the previous phase, the text will be sent to a minimum of two external peer reviewers, selected according to the area of knowledge and topic, as well as the language of writing.

On the basis of the Blind Peer Review Criteria,  they will fill in the Evaluation Report, which they will have received by e-mail and which will subsequently be sent to the author of the text, in an anonymous form.

This report will indicate the possible modifications that the text must include in order to be published. The decisions taken by the external evaluators are final. In the event of disagreement between the two, a third external evaluator will be called in to settle the matter.

Blind peer review is the slowest step. Authors should be aware that it can take up to 2 months to receive the reviews, after after which they must include suggestions in their articles within a month.

4. Publication

Once the process has been completed (reception, first evaluation, blind peer review, corrections), the text will be published and the authors notified with its details.
