Abstract

This article describes the process of producing maps of average annual and seasonal precipitation for the period 1991–2020, included in the National Atlas of Spain (ANE). It details the phases of raster generalisation, vectorisation, topological review and composition, carried out using data from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) in accordance with the Atlas' technical standards. The aim is to obtain clear, comparable and accurate maps, adapted to the scale of the ANE and suitable for public dissemination. The result is up-to-date and rigorous cartography that contributes to the geographical and climatic knowledge of the country.
