Desigualdad alimentaria en adolescentes: una revisión de la literatura científica

Resumen

Este artículo se base en un análisis de la literatura científica sobre la desigualdad alimentaria entre la población adolescente. De dicho análisis, se desprende que, en España, las enfermedades relacionadas con la alimentación no saludable se están incrementando al mismo tiempo que la dieta mediterránea es sustituida por otro tipo de alimentación en el que predominan los alimentos procesados. Uno de los grupos más vulnerables, respecto a la alimentación no saludable, son los/as adolescentes. Estos tienen peor alimentación que otras franjas etarias pero entre ellos/as mismos/as también existen diferencias según el nivel socioeconómico. El entorno dónde las personas viven puede ser un buen indicador para analizar las diferencias antedichas, de esta forma, el barrio dónde se vive parece determinante en la salud que se tenga y también en la alimentación. Existen dos modelos teóricos, que creemos idóneos, para el estudio de las diferencias alimentarias en adolescentes; uno es el modelo de determinantes de la alimentación, compuesto por el entorno cultural, físico, social y personal; el otro modelo es el marco Angelo, basado principalmente en la obesidad y que incluye factores relacionados tanto con la alimentación como con la actividad física.
