Abstract

The integration of immersive technologies in the teaching of French as a foreign language promotes more creative and interactive learning. This study analyzes the use of booktrailers (short videos combining text, image, music, and voice)as an innovative teaching tool to develop linguistic, digital, and cultural competences. Based on a pilot experience with intermediate-level university students, an intercultural project-based approach was implemented: students selected a Francophone literary work, wrote a script, and designed and edited a booktrailer. The activity fostered oral and written expression, collaboration, and autonomy, while enhancing motivation and critical thinking. Sharing the final products on digital platforms positioned students as active cultural agents and encouraged authentic intercultural exchanges. The article concludes by highlighting the potential of booktrailers to integrate linguistic and media competences in the FLE classroom, as well as the need to further explore their methodological benefits and challenges.
