Abstract

In this article, we examine the use of the Edpuzzle tool in the FLE classroom as a resource that enhances listening comprehension, participation and motivation among B1-level students. Our main objective is to assess how this platform contributes to the development of communicative competence in the language classroom. This study is significant as it provides a pedagogical response to the challenge of teaching foreign languages through innovative methodologies such as the Flipped Classroom, promoting meaningful, autonomous and authentic learning.
The results show that Edpuzzle enables audiovisual materials to be transformed into interactive resources that reinforce listening comprehension, vocabulary learning and student engagement. Furthermore, it facilitates personalised monitoring of each student’s progress by the teacher. However, certain limitations are also analysed, such as the need for a good internet connection, the time required to prepare activities, and the focus on comprehension rather than production. It is therefore concluded that Edpuzzle is an effective tool for enhancing communicative competence in French, provided it is complemented by other methodologies and approaches that allow for the balanced development of communicative competence.
