Abstract

The pandemic caused by the Covid-19 led to a sudden transformation of the teaching-learning processes in all face-to-face university degrees. Once the confinement period was over, in the following academic year 2020-2021, courses had to be redesigned to progressively return to the face-to-face teaching complying with the regulations imposed by the Public Administration. This article presents the challenges and opportunities we faced in the course of Statistics II of the degree in Business Administration and Management at University of Zaragoza. The teachers of the course developed a methodology in three phases: (i) Phase 1: live streaming teaching; (ii) Phase 2: Traditional face-to-face teaching; and (iii) Phase 3: Evaluation process. The main challenges observed refer to the communication process between teachers and students, the cognitive differences between students, and the teachers and students dissatisfaction. The opportunities are related to a better ability to react to future situations, the incorporation of technology as support in the traditional face-to-face teaching, together with the creation of new teaching materials as well as the improvement of the participation of students in the learning process.
