Abstract

Study of Teruel's province reveals a space with remarkable biological ageing due, in a great deal, to rural emigration. In 1988 its population was estimated in 149,579 people, with a provincial mean density of 10.1 inhabitanrs/km2, quite far from the 75 inhabitants/km2 thaf shows the Spanish national mean density. At the same time, a 19.6 % of the population is 65 or over 65 years old.
