Abstract

A methodology is presented for coupling 0D models as boundary conditions to 1D models in blood vessel networks, allowing transient haemodynamic responses to postural changes to be simulated. This approach overcomes the limitations of previous models in handling transonic flow conditions, demonstrating its effectiveness in simulating rapid manoeuvres, such as the change from supine to upright position.
