Resumen

Casi desde los inicios de la educación, las tecnologías en sentido amplio han estado presentes, cada una con sus propios méritos e inconvenientes. La tecnología informática ha sido aclamada con grandes promesas, pero los primeros resultados han sido decepcionantes en la medida en que las limitaciones informáticas se han sumado a las limitaciones humanas. Tras diferenciar entre conocimiento e información y trazar la historia de la tecnología en la educación como empresa de información, este artículo explora las perspectivas de progreso real de la hipertecnología y describe algunos proyectos modelo.
