View (1940-47), the Avant-garde, and the Uncertain Life of Objects: Criticism as if Fragments Mattered

Este artículo pretende estudiar la producción cultural de vanguardia como un discurso fragmentario dedicado a explotar la incongruencia potencial de los objetos desconectados de las narrativas generales. Como modelos críticos orientadores para este fin, se evalúa el uso que Walter Bejamin hace del montaje y la noción de el punctum de Roland Bruthes; el objeto elegido para poner a prueba este enfoque es el discurso de la revista surrealista estadounidense View (1940-1947). En última instancia, el ensayo propone un enfoque de la vanguardia que incorporaría las estrategias vanguardistas a la retórica de la crítica.
