Abstract

In this analysis of Camille Bouchard's novel L’Intouchable aux yeux verts, we examine the representation of the emotions of a teenager confronted with a situation that is both unprecedented and dramatic, during his first stay in India. Firstly, we will analyse how the text generates the illusion that Dominic is a kind of alter ego of the reader. Secondly, we will focus on the dramatization and rhetoric of Dominic's emotions.

Keywords: otherness, adolescence, emotions, empathy, India.
