Abstract

The present work proposes a reading of the relationship mourning/(a)productivity within the musical work or Ricardo Iorio. We taje as axez the mourning for the beloved woman, the mourning for music on the way to old age and the variation on the topic of travel. This allow us to propose a periodization of the musician's work, takin the so-called cycle of the senectute as a model.

The analysis of the album Ultimando (2003) reveals, by the negative, the strong authorial presence of Ana Mourín, Iorio's deceased spouse, in te singer's work. Thus, this work makes it possible to begin to address this figure, vanished from the history if Argentine music, laying the foundations for future works.
