Abstract

In this article, we aim to explore the relationship between the Indiciary Paradigm, epistemological model that emerged during the 19th century, and the novel genre of the time. In particular, we focus on Fortunata y Jacinta by Benito Pérez Galdós, where we consider this relationship according to the epistemological objective of the realist novel: society as a whole. To this end, we analize how the Indiciary Paradigm is interwined with other models of knowledge, creating a weave that reveals the novel's plan or ideology.
