There is still a widely held belief that one of the principal evils plaguing the construction sector is its low level of industrialisation. The general consensus is that compared with other productive sectors, the construction of buildings lacks the productivity associated with the industrial model and is still overly dependent on labour and on building processes and materials that have low added value and are technologically backward.
