Colección de Arte Oriental en la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Sevilla

Resumen

A finales del año 2002, la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Sevilla colocó en uno de sus principales salones la colección de Arte Oriental de China y Japón, que la Compañía de Jesús le donó de un modo permanente y definitivo. Esta colección perteneció al padre jesuita y especialista en arte japonés Fernando García Gutiérrez y constituye el resultado de sus muchos años de contacto con Oriente durante su vida, especialmente con Japón. Esta formada por más de un centenar de objetos de China y Japón, entre los que se encuentran pinturas, esculturas, cerámicas, piedras duras, platería, grabado ukiyo-e, etc. Hay obras de los siglos XVII, XVIII, XIX y XX.

At the end of 2002, The Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Seville placed in one of its main halls the Eastern Art Collection of China and Japan, donated permanently and finally by the Society of Jesus. This collection belonged to Fernando García Gutiérrez, Jesuit father and specialist in Japanese Art and it represents many years of contact with The East throughout his life, especially with Japan. Over a hundred Chinese and Japanese pieces make up this collection which includes works from the XVII, XVIII, XIX and XX centuries, such as paintings, sculptures, potteries, hard stones, silversmith’s craft, engraving, Ukiyo-e, etc…
