Petición de ayuda e incorporación de feedback en la interacción en lengua extranjera: El papel de la edad y el nivel de competencia

Resumen

La petición de ayuda es una estrategia de comunicación cooperativa a la que pueden recurrir los estudiantes de lenguas extranjeras (LE) cuando experimentan problemas en la producción. El objetivo de este estudio es examinar en qué medida alumnos de diferentes edades y niveles de competencia piden ayuda mientras realizan una tarea de narración, cómo lo hacen y cómo les ayuda su interlocutor. El estudio también examina si los alumnos incorporan la ayuda proporcionada a su discurso posterior. Los resultados muestran diferencias significativas en el uso de apelaciones directas e indirectas explícitas por parte de los alumnos de más edad y más competentes, así como un aumento de la incorporación de la ayuda por parte de los alumnos en proporción a su competencia. Los resultados obtenidos se interpretan como una evidencia del papel que desempeñan la edad y el nivel de competencia en las destrezas interaccionales de los estudiantes de LE.
