Abstract

The aim of this paper is to carry out a comparative analysis between the graphic novel María y yo, written by María and Miguel Gallardo, and its subsequent transfer to the audiovisual medium by Félix Fernández de Castro. From a multidisciplinary perspective and through the study of the different adaptation processes, the aim is to reflect on the informative and didactic task that both works carry out on people diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). On the other hand, the autobiographical nature of the narrative and the important role played by graphic medicine in the representation of neurodivergent realities, those which are excluded from the hegemonic discourse, will be explored in depth.
