Abstract

This article deals with the problem of evil in a novel by Luis Gusmán published in 1995: Villa. The protagonist and narrator of the novel is a doctor who collaborates with the paramilitary organization “Triple A” during the years in which José López Rega headed the Ministry of Social Welfare of Argentina. We try to show that the central problem of the novel is not the revelation of a past generally omitted by “official history” but the exposition of the myths that justify obedience and provoked those events.
