Subject Clauses in Old English: Do They Really Exist?

Recientemente, se ha negado la existencia de cláusulas de sujeto en inglés antiguo, principalmente porque las cláusulas no aparecen en la posición inicial de la oración. En este artículo se argumenta que los análisis alternativos propuestos en la literatura no dan cuenta de los datos lingüísticos y que la presencia en posición inicial no es un criterio relevante para los sujetos en esta etapa temprana del desarrollo del inglés.
