Abstract

With the EHEA (European Higher Education Area), the teaching guides of the university-degree courses include multiple tasks and tests to help students to achieve generic and specific competences. This situation creates the opportunity to study whether students perceive an excess workload in the teaching-learning process. We analyse students’ perception about their workload in Business Administration degree of the Faculty of Economics and Business with the purpose of achieving generic and specific competences, especially valued in the business world. In addition, we study the current system, detecting possible problems by academic year and courses. In particular, we examine possible deficiencies between the tasks’ weights in the teaching guides and the work required to carry out them by students. Furthermore, we ask about the students' perception of the task usefulness. All of these allow us to propose improvement actions in time planning and task design with the ultimate goal of improving the teaching-learning process.
