About the Journal

CLIO. History and History teaching (ISSN 1139-6237) is an electronic journal edited by the "Proyecto Clío” Association (Valencia, Spain) and since 2020 also co-published by the University of Zaragoza (Zaragoza, Spain). It is an open access journal with double blind peer review of articles. It has been published online since 1998 and annually since 2003. Until 2019 on http://clio.rediris.es and from 2020 on https://papiro.unizar.es/ojs/index.php/clio.

“Proyecto Clio”Association and the University of Zaragoza are not responsible for the veracity of the information and opinions expressed by the authors of the content and contributors to the magazine, nor do they necessarily share their opinions and interpretations. The authors are responsible for the rights management of published images.

OBJECTIVES AND SCOPE

The journal "CLIO. History and history teaching" publishes articles on History or History Education. The following may be submitted for publication: empirical research articles in History Education and Social Science Education or History; theoretical, discussion or state of the art articles on a specific topic in History or History Didactics; analysis of didactic proposals for history teaching, reviews and presentations of books, websites, blogs, games, didactic materials etc. related to History and its teaching.

Open Access conditions

This is an open access journal, which means that all content is available free of charge and without charge to the user or their institution. Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search the full text of articles or include a link to them. They may also use them for any other lawful purpose, without seeking prior permission from the publisher or author. This is in line with BOAI's definition of open access. 

Does the journal charge a fee for publishing an article (APCs)?

Clio. History and History teaching is a Diamond Open Access Journal. The journal does not have an APC, i.e. it does not charge fees for the evaluation and publication of articles.

Anti-plagiarism policy

The authors undertake not to commit plagiarism, defined as the appropriation of texts by other authors without their consent and without citing the source, even if express permission has been granted by the latter authors. To this end, Clio. History and History Teaching systematically checks submitted manuscripts for plagiarism using the Compilatio software and to ensure the originality of published works.

CLIO. History and History teaching is accessible through the OAI-PMH protocol (Open Archives Initiative - Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) based on the Dublin Core scheme, for its metadata transmission over internet.
